How to Turn Your Car Into a Custom Brick-Built Model

By BrickTuned ·

A custom brick-built pickup truck model, 3D render

You know every line of your car: the stance, the wheels, the mods you saved up for. A shelf model from a catalogue never quite matches it. A custom brick-built model does, because it's designed from photos of your car, not the factory version.

Here's exactly how it works at BrickTuned, from your first photo to the last brick.

1. Send photos of your car

One clear side photo is enough to start. Front and rear shots help with lights, grilles and wings. Anything that makes the car yours goes in the notes: wrap colour, wheel style, aero, ride height or livery. Not sure your photos are good enough? Our guide on how to photograph your car for a custom model covers it in two minutes.

2. Pick a size

Every kit comes in three sizes. Small is a desk-size build about 8 studs wide, Medium is 10 studs wide with more shaping and detail, and Large is 16 studs wide: the full showpiece. The length follows your car's own proportions, so a pickup comes out longer than a hatchback. Kits start from C$99. If you're torn, read which kit size to choose.

3. Approve your 3D preview

This is the step that makes a custom kit worth it. After you order, we email you to confirm the details and send a 3D preview render of your car. You check the colour, the wheels, the shape. Two rounds of revisions are included, so if the stance is a touch off or the wheels need to be darker, we change it.

Nothing is ordered until you approve. If you change your mind before your first preview arrives, you get a full refund. The refund and cancellation policy has the details.

4. We order the parts and pack the kit

Once you approve, we order every part your design needs and bag them by build stage, so you're never digging through a pile of hundreds of pieces looking for one.

5. Build it

Instructions are digital: a step-by-step PDF you can open on a phone, tablet or computer, plus a full parts list. Each bag matches a stage in the PDF. Add an optional display plate with your own text and it's ready for the desk, shelf or showroom.

What does it cost?

Kits start from C$99 for Small, with Medium at C$199 and Large at C$299. Shipping is charged at cost: within Canada it's a Canada Post flat-rate box from C$21.99. See the shipping rates for the US and larger kits.

Common questions

Can you build any car?

Cars, pickups, wagons, hatchbacks and SUVs all work, stock or modified. Lifts, lowered stances, wraps, aftermarket wheels and roof racks are exactly the kind of details we design in. If you're unsure about something unusual, email us before you order.

How accurate will it be?

A brick model is a stylised version of your car: we capture its shape, colour, wheels and the details that make it recognisable, matched to the closest brick colours. The 3D preview shows you exactly what you'll get before any parts are ordered, and two rounds of revisions are included.

Do I need building experience?

No. The step-by-step PDF walks you through every stage, and the parts are bagged to match. A Small kit is a relaxed first build; Large is a bigger project with more pieces.

Are these official toy-brand kits?

No. BrickTuned is an independent studio. Kits use high-quality compatible bricks and aren't affiliated with or endorsed by any toy brand or car maker.
