Small, Medium or Large: Which Custom Brick Car Kit Should You Choose?

Every BrickTuned kit is designed from photos of your car, in one of three sizes. The size decides how big the model is, how much detail fits in, and how long the build takes. Here's how to pick.
The quick comparison
| Size | Width | Usual length | Our example build | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 8 studs | about 9 in | 172 pieces | C$99 |
| Medium | 10 studs | about 11 in | 731 pieces | C$199 |
| Large | 16 studs | 12–17 in | 2,192 pieces | C$299 |
The length follows your car's own proportions, so a pickup comes out longer than a hatchback. Piece counts are from our example pickup builds. Your car's count depends on its shape and details.
Small: the desk build
Small captures your car's shape, colour and wheels in a clean, compact build that fits on a desk or shelf. It's the quickest build of the three and the easiest on the wallet. Pick Small if you want a recognisable model of your car without a weekend-long project.
Medium: the detailed build
Medium is our most popular size. The extra width gives room for sharper body lines and lights, and our example build has opening doors, hood and tailgate. Pick Medium if you want the details that make people say "that's your car" and still keep it shelf-sized.
Large: the showpiece
Large is 16 studs wide and built to be the centrepiece. It has the most detail: vents, lights and interior hints, and features like opening panels and working steering on our example builds. Pick Large if this car means a lot to you, or if it's going on display in the garage, the office or a showroom.
Common questions
Why does the length vary?
Width sets the scale; length follows your car's own proportions. A long pickup at the same width comes out longer than a compact hatchback.
Do all sizes have opening doors?
Opening panels need room, so they're easiest to fit at Medium and Large. Small focuses on a clean, accurate shape. What fits depends on your car, and your 3D preview shows exactly what's included.
Can I change size after ordering?
If you'd like a different size, email us as early as possible, before parts are ordered, and we'll let you know your options. Once you approve your design and parts are ordered, the kit can't be changed.
Which size ships for the least?
Small. In Canada, kits ship in Canada Post flat-rate boxes from C$21.99; see all shipping rates.
Still not sure?
- Buying a gift? Medium is the safe pick: plenty of detail and a satisfying build. Our gift guide has more ideas.
- Your car has lots of small details (a busy grille, aero, a roof rack)? Go Medium or Large so they fit.
- Short on space? Small sits happily on a desk.
Whatever you pick, you approve a 3D preview of your car before any parts are ordered, with two rounds of revisions included. See the sizes with 3D renders or start your build.
